Location: Perkerson Park, Atlanta, GA

Perkerson Park is beloved as a wonderful hub for many types of recreation, and we’re going off the beaten path to explore the Nature found at Perkerson. This 50-acre park located in close-in to downtown Atlanta, and just a bit south of the Beltline contains a significant tributary of Atlanta’s South River – the only major River originating in the Atlanta metro area. This long section of waterway and the forest areas along the banks will provide much natural habitat we can explore. It’s amazing what types of tress and plants we can find even in Atlanta’s deeply urban zone — one reason Atlanta’s parks and greenspaces are so special!
