Dunwoody Nature Center is tucked between neighborhoods and is only a few minutes from a major shopping mall in Atlanta's northern suburbs. Yet this nature preserve hosts over 20 acres of native woodlands, with two streams and a small wetland. We often don’t stop to look at the forests along our bikeways, but we can easily learn to apply our naturalist skills as we ride, from recognizing trees and plant communities to listening for birds. Kathryn leads a naturalist bike tour along one of her favorite sections of the Silver Comet Trail. Join us for a paddle on the Flint River and an overnight riverside camp-out near Thomaston, GA.
