Volunteer – Grove Park/Proctor Creek
We invite Eco-A volunteers, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest. We'll focus on removing invasive species carefully from this high-value forest. We'll show how to recognize old growth forest remnants and we'll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline. Join us for a rare chance to visit a premiere Atlanta greenspace as well as help restore it. This unique area is a protected City of Atlanta Watershed Management property along Utoy Creek. This property is a mix of ecosystems from floodplain to ridgetop, and it includes old growth forest remnants and a botanically rich slope with that hosts Buckeye, Toothwort, Bloodroot, Trillium, Wild Comfrey and many other uncommon spring native species.
