Intuitive Walk, with Meredith Walters
Eco-A welcomes Career Coach and author Meredith Walters as co-leader of this special walk through mature native forest at Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park, where we'll allow the quiet voice of nature to help us tune into the whispered voice of our own inner wisdom. Join us for a rare chance to visit a premiere Atlanta greenspace as well as help restore it. This unique area is a protected City of Atlanta Watershed Management property along Utoy Creek. This property is a mix of ecosystems from floodplain to ridgetop, and it includes old growth forest remnants and a botanically rich slope with that hosts Buckeye, Toothwort, Bloodroot, Trillium, Wild Comfrey and many other uncommon spring native species. Have you been to Atlanta's largest new park – the Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve? This 216-acre natural area is one of South Atlanta's green gems hosting a mature native forest including stands of Shagbark Hickory which is quite rare in the metro Atlanta area. Join Eco-A and your neighbors and friends of Adams Park to in helping to restore this historic West Atlanta greenspace gem. The native forest here retains remnants of the old growth forest from days it was owned by the Muscogee Creek Nation, only about 20 decades ago.
