In celebration of MLK Jr Day 2022, please join Eco-A, Hands-On Atlanta, Friends of South Bend Park and Sustainable Lakewood for a special volunteer park restoration and clean-up day at South Bend Park!

We’ll pick up trash and remove invasive species, and at end of our session we’ll visit a beautiful section of the South River in the park. We’ll also share info about the special features of South Bend Park and Atlanta’s superlative urban forest.

We’ll walk approximately .5 – 1 miles on paved or natural trails, along with some off-trail locations. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and work gloves as we may be working in shrubby areas. 

Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are not re-using gloves, so please bring your own, or we can provide a brand new, unused pair for $5 that you can take home with you (and use next time).  –  We’ll supply tools such as clippers, loppers, small saws, and digging tools.  

This is a Covid-safe event — we’ll be outdoors at all times following CDC recommended guidelines — those not vaccinated will need to wear masks when they are within 6 feet of others. And of course if you do not feel well, please consider joining us another time!
