IMPORTANT – TIME CORRECTION: WALK NOW BEGINS AT 1:30 PM

Another little known greenspace gem in the City of Atlanta can be found at the Monte Vista Biblical Gardens cemetery. Located just off Hollywood Road near Proctor Creek, this greenspace offers a rare preserved woodland hilltop with almost no invasive species, a slope with old-growth beech trees, and a scattering of relict trees on the lower slope near the stream corridor.

There is a screen of invasive species along the lower sections of the hill, but once passing through these, the forest is relatively open. We’ll walk off-trail in several locations, and we’ll be respectful of those who rest eternally on this beautiful forested hill. Those living here include deer, songbirds and other wildlife.
