Probst Park, Birding Walk
May 13 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Event Navigation
Join us for a Wednesday morning birding walk in this forested park near Dekalb’s Smokerise neighborhood. This mature hardwood forest and creek ravine is nestled among heavily wooded neighborhoods making this park a good place to find year-round songbirds and likely some of our neo-tropical migrant songsters who have traveled from Central and South America to build nests in our local woodlands. We’ll look — and listen — for songbirds and learn much about the forest they call home. And we’ll hear fascinating stories about their annual migration.
We’ll walk approximately 1 mile on an easy trail with some hills.
