A remarkable array of native blooms can be found at the Line Creek Nature Area, including native azaleas, mountain laurel, many spring ephemerals, and even a few uncommon species enjoying a small rock outcrop. We’re excited to walk in this remarkable, and highly biodiverse natural area found surprisingly close to developed areas in Peachtree City, GA., located south of the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, about 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
Likely the rockiness of much of this woodland protected it from soil disturbances from farming and development, though mills were built along the creek. The unusually rocky substrate also supports uncommon species.
