Simpsonwood Park
May 16 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Event Navigation
We invite everyone to join this 2.5-3 mile hike offered in partnership with our friends at Piedmont Women’s Heart Support.
Simpsonwood Park is located near Peachtree Corners and hosts over 200 acres of woodlands adjacent to the Chattahoochee River, just above the deep bend north of Holcomb Bridge Road.

This park includes mix of forest types, a broad network of trails, and a beautiful meandering stream that eventually drops into the Chattahoochee. A crown of impressive oaks adorns the hilltop near the parking area, and we’ll likely see some of the uncommon and even quite rare species that call this park home.
We’ll walk from ridge to river, seeing relic oaks, great Beech trees and an impressive stand of native Paw Paw. We’ll stop to discuss interesting forest dynamics and features and as we go – and we’ll likely hear, and possibly see, some of the neotropical migrant songbirds either staking out nesting territories or stopping to refuel in this preserved pocket of forest.
