Horace King Bridge and Pine Mtn Hike

Join us one or both events of this special two-part outing! First we'll visit the best preserved of the remaining covered bridges built by Horace King, a talented bridge-builder, architect and businessman of considerable wealth before the Civil War. King was African-American from a tri-racial heritage, and began building bridges in the 1820's, working primarily in western Georgia and eastern Alabama. Volunteer, Grove Park/Proctor Creek

We invite Eco-A volunteers, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique old-growth forest remnant. Your volunteer work will help us remove invasive species carefully, without using any harsh treatments that could harm the native forest we are trying to restore. Fall Trees, Oaks and Acorns – West Palisades Trail

  We'll enjoy the beginnings of fall color on this Chattahoochee River corridor trail which hosts a high biodiversity of native tree species. We'll Iearn to identify a wide variety of trees by leaf, bark and fruit, with a special focus on the oaks and their acorns -- hickories too. Join us for a rare chance to visit a premiere Atlanta greenspace -- and help restore it! Old Growth Tulip Tree, Conasauga Ranger District, N GA

Cathedral Woods – Naturalist and Restoration Care Walk

Join us for an informative walk near Tanyard Creek and the Atlanta Beltline, near Northside Drive and Peachtree Road  We're partnering with Friends of Tanyard Creek Park, Friends of Louise G. Howard Park, and the Collier Hills North Neighborhood Association in removing invasives without heavy chemical use in order to restore this older forest gem greenspace.
