South Bend Park – Volunteer with Greenspace Restoration Corps

Join us in helping remove invasive species from South Bend Park!  South Bend Park is located in southeastern Atlanta neighborhoods and hosts important headwaters of the South River, one of the two major Georgia river systems originating in metro Atlanta. The park contains a variety of ecosystems, as well as recreational areas, and we'll help remove invasive species to restore native bio-diversity.  We'll walk 1/4 - 1/2 mile in open areas as well as forested areas, on both paved walkways…

Sandy Springs – Volunteer

Join us in helping to restore an old growth forest remnant in Sandy Springs at Chestnut Oak Ridge! Late Fall Hike, Lake Charlotte Preserve

If you have not yet been to the higher ridges at Atlanta's Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve, you'll enjoy this hike. We should still have some lingering fall color with reds on the high summits. This 216-acre natural area is one of South Atlanta's greenspace gems hosting a mature native forest including rare stands of Shagbark Hickory.  The unusual geology underlying the park, which includes part of DeKalb County's Soapstone Ridge, contributes to the biodiversity of the forest, and is likely why…

Join us for a rare chance to visit a premiere Atlanta greenspace -- and help restore it! This unique area is a protected City of Atlanta Watershed Management property along Utoy Creek.
