Many of Atlanta area’s premier greenspaces are located on Atlanta’s westside. Why? One reason is because areas with boulders and rock outcrops in the past were not the best locations for farming or building, so these areas often remained as woodlands. Boat Rock Nature Preserve is a special tract that holds impressive whale-sized boulders, some stacked on top of one another. This area was nearly destroyed for development. We invite Eco-A volunteers, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest. We'll focus on removing invasive species carefully from this high-value forest.
