Eco-A partners with James Tyler and Friends of Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Nature Preserve for a Stewardship naturalist education and volunteer work session. Note: Participation in this Stewardship session counts as credit toward completion of our online Eco-Literacy course, click here for details. Dunwoody Nature Center is tucked between neighborhoods and is only a few minutes from a major shopping mall in Atlanta's northern suburbs. Yet this nature preserve hosts over 20 acres of native woodlands, with two streams and a small wetland. Parts of the area show impacts of an old homestead and some farming, but this greenspace also holds remnants of the original forest with mature diverse tree canopy and many uncommon species.
