EcoAddendum Birds Butterflies and Bees Program
Artscapes are multidisciplinary lesson plans that uses targeted, relevant, art techniques and projects to enhance and reinforce environmental learning. Cultural history, natural history, environmental science and art skills are complemented by Artscapes activities. Students use observations, activities, and found natural objects to create mud cloth, journals, maps, action flip books, as well as other projects, to reinforce skills and observations/information gathered in the natural outdoor environment.
The Artscapes program adapts activities to a broad range of students, ages 8 – 17, encouraging relevant outdoor activities and discussion. These after school activities create a high quality alternative experience for youth not interested or enrolled in after school sports. The lesson plans require a minimum of 45 minutes, and are best at 90 minutes of student availability.
In addition to ArtScapes, the following lesson plans are available, and can be used in many outdoor settings. Lesson plans are developed according to the Georgia QCC.
Experiential Environmental Education Packets
Although these environmental experiential lesson plans were originally gathered together for use in the Boat Rock Preserve in Atlanta Georgia, they are easily adapted to many different outdoor areas. They are placed here in PDF format for public use. The lesson plans meet Georgia QCC standards, and have been updated to standards in place as of 2005. If anyone viewing this site has comments or lesson plans that they can share with us, please contact the site administrator, and we would love to post them.
Thanks, and have a great day in the outdoors with kids.

My indebtedness and thanks go to Biologist Sue Wilmoth and Jessica Williams for bringing the lesson plans together, updating them, and putting them into a clear format.
