Living With Trees, Lakewood Community, ATL

November 2 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Join Eco-A and co-host James Williams,  Lakewood Community resident and Project Forester, for a richly informative walk to educate homeowners and all residents about the easy-to-tell signs a tree might become a fall risk.

Trees don’t fall for no reason! A tree falling should never be a surprise, and should not happen when we check our trees for signs of problems. Nearly all trees will tell you they are having challenges years before they failif you know what signs to look for.

On this informative walk along quiet neighborhood streets we’ll show the key indicators a tree may be struggling, or be at risk of breaking or falling. We’ll show the distinctive growth forms, certain visible fungi, and how invasive vines can create a fall risk, while native vines do not.

Everyone should be able to look at the trees in their yard or neighborhood and know when it’s time to call a Certified Arborist for help — or rest assured their tree is healthy. We’ll also explain the differences between ISA Certified Arborists and tree cutters, so you may save costs by knowing which tree services you might – or might not – need.

We’ll also share many interesting facts about how trees work, and their role in a healthy neighborhood environment.

Did you know?

• A leaning tree is not necessarily a fall risk

• Common trees in our yards can live for 500+ years

• Mosses and lichens do not harm trees

Join us at no cost – and please RSVP HERE
