Eco-A has been given an amazing invitation from dear friends Linda and Ralph Best.  You are invited to join us in viewing the Perseid Meteor Shower at their home and property near Thomaston, Georgia — far from the city lights.

“The Perseids” is one of the best known meter shower events.  From this remote location, many more shooting stars will be seen in a truly dark sky. Though August 15 is just past the projected peak of the event, many shooting stars per hour should still be visible.  You’re welcome to stay up as late as you like.

Please arrive in the late afternoon between 5:00 and 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 15.  Feel free to bring beverages and food, pitch a tent and camp out in the field.  Or you can stay overnight in the “great” room – with sleeping bags on the floor.  Hotel accommodations in nearby towns are also available.

Guests are welcome to swim or kayak in the lake, or swim in the pool.  You’ll bring your own food and drink for the evening, and Eco-A will provide coffee, fruit and pastries for a light breakfast on Sunday morning.  The drive is about 1.5 hours from Atlanta.
