SUMMARY:South Bend Stewardship Walk
DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join Eco-A\, Friends of South Bend Park and Sustainable Lakewood for a volunteer park restoration and clean-up day at South Bend Park!\nWe’ll remove invasive species\, and at the end of our session we’ll visit a beautiful section of the South River in the park. We’ll also share info about the special features of South Bend Park and Atlanta’s superlative urban forest.\nWe’ll walk approximately .5 – 1 miles on paved or natural trails\, along with some off-trail locations. Please wear long sleeves\, long pants\, sturdy shoes\, and work gloves as we may be working in shrubby areas. \nDue to Covid-19 precautions\, we are not re-using gloves\, so please bring your own\, or we can provide a brand new\, unused pair for $5 that you can take home with you (and use next time).  –  We’ll supply tools such as clippers\, loppers\, small saws\, and digging tools.  \nThis is a Covid-safe event — we’ll be outdoors at all times following CDC recommended guidelines — those not vaccinated will need to wear masks when they are within 6 feet of others.
