DESCRIPTION:\nRescheduled from original May 12 date.\nA small\, lovely greenspace can be found near Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs — I accidentally discovered this unique natural area during visits to the nearby vet clinic. A small creek with rocky cascades borders a steep slope hosting a forest with chestnut oak and mountain laurel – very unusual for the metro area. Other uncommon species can be found in this surprisingly rich area\, which is reminiscent of a cooler\, Georgia mountain ecology.  This greenspace is an oasis in one of the most rapidly developing landscapes on Atlanta’s Northside.
