DESCRIPTION:This walk is full – now taking wait list\nThe metro-Atlanta area is known for its unusually rich forest. By accidents of history\, a number of local greenspaces still hold remnants of our region’s original forest\, sometimes with old growth trees and plant communities still intact. Osborne Park is one of these rare locations. Join us for a tour of this special place\, forgotten by most for decades.\nBy early spring we should find several uncommon native wildflowers and we’ll visit an amazing five-trunked sycamore\, which is likely an ancient tree that survived\, and is re-growing from roots after its original trunk was cut long ago.\nLong-time neighborhood resident and National Wildlife Federation leader Tom Reilly gives us an intro to this remarkable location he remembers from childhood.\nTo register\, click HERE.  Details and directions will be sent to registered participants. \nA donation of $15 or more helps sustain our programs.\n\nMulti-trunked sycamore.
