SUMMARY:Living With Trees\, Briarwood Park\, Brookhaven
DESCRIPTION:\nNote: this is event is being rescheduled – new date will be posted soon.\nJoin us for a richly informative walk to educate homeowners and every resident about the easy-to-tell signs a tree might become a fall risk.\nTrees don’t fall for no reason! A tree falling should never be a surprise\, and should not happen when we regularly check our trees for signs of problems. Nearly all trees will tell you they are having challenges years before they fail — if you know what signs to look for. \nOn this informative walk in Briarwood Park we’ll show the key indicators a tree may be struggling\, or be at risk of breaking or falling. We’ll show the distinctive growth forms\, certain visible fungi\, and how invasive vines can create a fall risk\, while native vines do not. \nEveryone should be able to look at the trees in their yard or neighborhood and know when it’s time to call a Certified Arborist for help — or rest assured knowing their tree is healthy. We’ll also explain the differences between ISA Certified Arborists and tree cutters\, so you may save costs by knowing which tree services you may – or may not – need. We’ll also share many interesting facts about how trees work\, and their role in a healthy neighborhood environment. \nDid you know?\n• A leaning tree is not necessarily a fall risk\n• Common trees in our yards can live for 500+ years \n• Mosses and lichens do not harm trees\n Join us at no cost – please RSVP HERE\nDetails and directions sent to registered participants (limit 30)\nA donation of $15 or more helps sustain our programs.\n\n\n\n\n\nFor more information about the Living With Trees program and how to offer a walk or on-line presentation to your community group – click HERE\n \nPhotos © Kathryn Kolb \n
