SUMMARY:Little Nancy Creek Park
DESCRIPTION: \nSaturday\, Feb 28\n\nLocated in North Buckhead\, just off Peachtree Dunwoody Road\, this relatively new park was purchased by City of Atlanta in 2007 with help from the Conservation Fund. Little Nancy Creek traverses this approximately 5 acre mostly forested area\, originally slated for development. An active neighborhood group\, Friends of Nancy Creek Park\, oversees a community garden and other park amenities. We’ll walk through the forest and visit the creek\, looking for the signs of early spring.  We’ll also include tips for winter tree ID (bark and twigs) as we walk. The park is currently being restored for native forest\, and hosts a good opportunity to discuss native and invasive species\, and Piedmont forest dynamics. This will be a very easy\, short walk\, approx 1/4 mile loop trail on flat terrain.\n\n  \n \n      No fee but please (RSVP) – click HERE   \nDetails & Meeting Directions sent to Registered Participants. \n      (a donation of $15 or more helps fund our programs) \n      Questions?  Contact us or call 404-862-0118 \n     (left) Distinctive Bark of American Ash Tree in Little Nancy Creek Park \n \n
