SUMMARY:Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Stewardship Walk
DESCRIPTION:\nEco-A partners with Friends of Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Nature Preserve for a Stewardship Series of educational walks and volunteer sessions. \nOur walk features trees and indicator species\, how to recognize them\, why they’re important\, and how to recognize certain invasive species and remove them before they have a chance to get started  from a high-value forest area — which is by far the most cost-effective means of invasive control. We’re sure to hear and likely see some of the neo-tropical migrant songbirds coming back from Central and South America who rely on Atlanta woodlands for habitat – some will be singing for nesting sites at Hampton-Beecher\, others will be just making friends and looking for potential mates as they move on to the higher mountains or the northern US and Canada for nesting sites. \nPlan for about a 1.5-2 mile walk on narrow natural trails\, with a few moderate hills.
