SUMMARY:High Falls Nature Trail
DESCRIPTION: \nHigh Falls State Park hosts Georgia’s largest waterfall south of Atlanta\, an impressive 135 foot cascade over a tumbling rock formation that heralds the transition from Georgia’s Piedmont to Coastal Plain.\nHigh Falls Park is a popular destination with many recreational amenities\, but we’ll take a less traveled nature trail that offers great views of the falls\, then runs through a hardwood forest adjacent to the Towaliga River. A wide variety of species can seen here\, including the striking Indian Pink. Boulders and rock formations can be found along the approximately 1.5 mile loop trail. The trail has some stairs and can be steep and rocky in places. Allow about 1 hour drive from Atlanta.\n \nTo register (RSVP) click HERE  –  Details and directions sent to registered participants (limit 15)\nA donation of $25 or more helps sustain our programs.\nPhotos from High Falls State Park © Kathryn Kolb \n
