SUMMARY:Herbert Greene Park
DESCRIPTION:Herbert Greene Park is one of Atlanta’s less well-known parks\, located just outside I-285 in the Boulder Park neighborhood. True to its location\, we find large boulders that are part of the Ben Hill granite outcrops. This forest also contains a beautiful stretch of Utoy Creek\, a few miles before its outfall into the the Chattahoochee River.  \nWe’ll walk approximately 1.5-2 miles on natural surface trails along the banks of Utoy Creek\, which at this point has developed the character of a small river. We’ll pass a deep bend with a sandbar\, where we’ll look for animal tracks\, then continue on to where deep pools are found among large boulders.  \n\n\n\nFor more information and to register click HERE  Details and directions sent to registered participants. \nA donation of $15 or more helps support our programs. \nHerbert Greene Park\, photos Kathryn Kolb \n \n  \n
