SUMMARY:Grove Park/Proctor Creek Stewardship Walk
DESCRIPTION:\nWe invite Eco-A volunteers\, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest.\nWe’ll focus on removing invasive species carefully from this high-value forest. We’ll show how to recognize these high-value forest areas\, and we’ll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline. \nVolunteers have made great progress this year on preventing the spread of Kudzu outbreaks\, and we’ve made great progress on English Ivy – let’s finish off a few of these sections!\nNote: Participation in this Stewardship session counts as credit toward completion of our online Eco-Literacy course. Click here for details.\nWe’ll walk approximately .5 – 1 miles on natural trails along with some off-trail locations. Please wear long sleeves\, long pants\, sturdy shoes\, and work gloves are recommended.\nDue to Covid-19 precautions\, we are not currently re-using gloves\, so please bring your own gloves\, or we can provide a brand new\, unused pair for $5 that you can take home with you (and use next time).\nWe’ll supply tools such as clippers\, loppers\, small saws\, and digging tools.  \nTo register (RSVP) click HERE – details and directions sent to registered participants. \nA donation of $15 or more helps support our programs.\n
