SUMMARY:Grove Park Proctor Creek Stewardship
DESCRIPTION:We invite Eco-A volunteers\, neighbors and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest.\nWe’ll focus on cutting English Ivy from trees and removing some from the ground in the old growth forest area\, since this season allows us to work safely in more sensitive areas. We’ll show how to recognize high-value forest areas and we’ll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline. \nNote: Participation in this Stewardship session counts as credit toward completion of our new on-line Eco-Literacy course\, click here for details.\nWe’ll walk approximately 1-1.5 miles on natural trails along with some off-trail locations. Please wear long sleeves\, long pants\, sturdy shoes\, and work gloves are recommended.\nDue to Covid-19 precautions\, we are not currently re-using gloves\, so please bring your own gloves\, or we can provide a brand new\, unused pair for $5 you can take home with you (and use next time).\nWe’ll supply tools such as clippers\, loppers\, small saws\, and digging tools.  \nTo register (RSVP) click HERE – details and directions sent to registered participants. \nA donation of $15 or more helps support our programs.\n
