SUMMARY:Forest Intelligence\, Atlanta Memorial Park
DESCRIPTION:\nThis event is full\, now taking wait list.\nEco-A joins Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy for Kathryn Kolb’s signature walk sharing new research from scientists including Suzanne Simard and Monica Gagliano about the intelligence of trees\, plants and other creatures. We’ll learn how to “read” the dynamic interactions of  trees just by seeing certain species and growth forms\, and we’ll gain new insights about intra-forest communication systems\, and how hard science data appears to prove that consciousness may not be limited to the type of brain structures found in mobile animals and people.\nWe’ll learn how plants “learned” to change their behavior under certain conditions\, and even how plants employ the principles of quantum mechanics. And we’ll muse on how individual forest residents contribute to the greater forest ecosystem and why our native forest\, found from our parks to backyards\, retains more of its original character in Atlanta neighborhoods than in other cities. \n \n\n\n\n\n                        To register (RSVP) click HERE   \nDetails and directions sent to registered participants \nA donation of $15 or more helps sustain our programs.\n  \nPhotos: Forest Canopy (above)\, Elderberry Flower (left) © Kathryn Kolb\, 2023 \n
