SUMMARY:Fall Trees\, Oaks and Acorns - West Palisades Trail
DESCRIPTION:  \nWe’ll enjoy the beginnings of fall color on this Chattahoochee River corridor trail which hosts a high biodiversity of native tree species. We’ll Iearn to identify a wide variety of trees by leaf\, bark and fruit\, with a special focus on the oaks and their acorns — hickories too. And we may even try tasting some of these staple forest foods as we find them along our way.\nOur trail covers ecosystems from ridge to floodplain\, and hosts many species only found in old older forest soils. We’ll walk approximately 2-3 miles on natural trails\, with an option to walk a little further for those wanting a bit more distance. Our trail begins on a ridge\, descends to the Chattahoochee River\, and then climbs back – so there are some hills\, and some roots and rocks along the trail. \nNote: We love dogs but please do not bring them on Eco-A walks. \nTo register (RSVP) click HERE  – Details and directions sent to registered participants.
