EcoAddendum Stewardship Program for Brookhaven, 2022-2023 with Kathryn Kolb, Master Naturalist

EcoAddendum partners with the City of Brookhaven for our signature Parks and Greenspace Stewardship series, designed for Brookhaven greenspace volunteers and leaders.

Classes take place approximately once per month for 11 class sessions, and participants will learn in-depth about the ecology, character, and forest dynamics of Brookhaven parks and greenspaces, including how to identify trees, shrubs, vines and other native and invasive plants, including indicator species, and what their presence means for the ecosystem. We’ll also show the best methods and strategies for safe and cost-effective removal of invasive species that preserves and enhances each park’s biodiversity, and we’ll show participants how to lead and train others.

All classes take place out of doors in Brookhaven parks. Course includes Eco-A’s online study guide (a $45 value) as well as Eco-Naturalist and Stewardship certifications. Limit 18.
