Pettit Environmental Preserve, Dallas, Georgia

March 9, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Kathryn Kolb will be the guest presenter on “Forest Intelligence” on March 9 as part of the The Pettit Environmental Preserve’s monthly public programming.  Kathryn will share some of the new research about the intelligence of trees and plants and other creatures, and we’ll learn to “read” our forest’s story, looking at growth patterns that tell us how the forest has responded to various challenges.

The program will be presented at 11 am & 1 pm and will include hiking on Preserve trails.  Visitors hiking on their own may choose from 3 different trails of varying lengths (.25 mi to 1.7 mi) which circle the 10 acre lake. A picnic shelter is available for those who wish to bring a lunch and leashed dogs are welcome with their owners.

The Pettit Preserve is located off Hwy 61 between Cartersville and Dallas. Directions are available on the website www.pettitpreserve.org or for GPS, enter “Douthit Bridge Rd, Dallas, GA” then follow signs.
