Relict Forest Restoration, Proctor Creek

January 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Can you tell the difference between Wild Ginger and English Ivy?

Eco-Addendum is looking for volunteers to help with a special restoration project located in an original forest remnant at Grove Park and Proctor Creek greenspace. We invite you to join us as we target a steep slope, notable for it’s special native plant community. This work session will be focused on detailed and careful removal of English Ivy around the sensitive high-value native plants such as Wild Ginger.

We’ll have a short intro to the high value of this unusual original forest remnant, followed by a training on how to safely remove English Ivy in more sensitive forest areas. This type of work is perfect for developing a keen eye for identifying and distinguishing some of our native plants from the more common invasives. After ivy removal, we will enjoy a short walk along the beautiful Proctor Creek.
