Volunteers Needed Grove Park/Proctor Creek

November 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

3  learn/work sessions on Nov 3:

• Morning restoration session: 9:00 am – noon

• Afternoon restoration session: 1:00 – 4:00 pm

• Wildflower planting session: 10:00 am – noon

Eco-A and West Atlanta Watershed Alliance invite you to join us in a volunteer learn/work day removing invasive species from a special original forest remnant at Grove Park and Proctor Creek greenspaces.

From 10am -noon we’ll have the opportunity to plant native wildflowers with Pandra Williams, as part of restoration/beautification of the Francis Street side of Grove Park.

We’ll have a short intro to the unusually high value of the urban forest in this special part of the Proctor Creek corridor, followed by a training on how to remove pesky invasive species such as privet, autumn olive, English ivy and others — these techniques will work great in your backyard too. We’ll also learn several valuable native trees and other species.
