Join us for a rare chance to visit a greenspace protected for the City of Atlanta’s Watershed along Utoy Creek. This property is a mix of ecosystems with some areas growing back from disturbances earlier in the 2oth century and some places still largely intact. We’ll find uncommon species that have been growing on the same slopes since Muskogee Creek days or even before.
This walk will be a little more of an urban forest adventure — be prepared to walk off-trail, ford a small creek, and ascend a fairly steep slope. We may need to do a little light bushwacking to see some interesting features, but it is well worth it to experience the kind of superlative greenspace that can still be found within the City limits of Atlanta.
