EcoAddendum’s founder, Pandra Williams, today runs one of the best native plant nurseries in Georgia, Beech Hollow Farm, located just east of Athens, Georgia. She grows over 100 species from the seeds she collects from plants in the Georgia Piedmont.
An accomplished artist herself, Pandra also fosters arts events and nature-based arts activities at the farm, including at the new, post-and beam constructed barn.
On Sunday, Nov 12, Beech Hollow Farm partners with Eco-A and Kathryn Kolb in hosting a special 1/2 day or all-day event. From 10-noon, we’ll offer tours of the native plant nursery; at noon we’ll see slide-show presentations about Georgia native plants, by Pandra Williams, and about the intersection between nature and fine art by Kathryn Kolb, while enjoying a BBQ lunch with all the “fixin’s”($25).
After lunch Kathryn offers the opportunity to hone your nature photography skills for an afternoon workshop walk through part of Beech Hollow’s 120-acre woodlands ($50). Many of our native trees should be showing great color at this time in November, including Scarlet oak, Black gum, Sweetgum, and Beech. (limited to 10 particpants.)
